We’re getting toward the end of the colorful autumn in the mid-west, and nearing the first year anniversary for the online version of the Teacher’s Guide to Tech! This post has a lot of updates, so it’s on the longer side. To see the last set of updates, check out the Summer 2025 post, and read on to see everything that was updated this fall!
New Tools
These tools were all added to the guide since August 1, 2025.
- Coddy was added as a similar tool to Brilliant in Interactive Lessons
- Cubetto and Bee-Bot were added as alternate tools in Makerspaces: Screen-Free Coding
- Lummi was added as a similar tool to Unsplash, in Images and Icons
- Marq, in Interactive Posters
- Nessy Fingers, in Keyboarding
- ScanMath, as an alternate tool for Photomath
- TeachAid, in Artificial Intelligence
- Tinkercast, in Podcasting
Removed Tools
- Metaverse, in Virtual & Augmented Learning, appears to have been shut down, so it has been removed from the guide. This article traces some of the history of the company that created it.
- Playposit, in Flipped and Blended Learning, has been acquired by WeVideo, so it no longer has its own page in the guide.
- Form Notifications was removed from the 10 Google Add-ons as it’s functionality is now more built into the platform.
- Eduflow was sunset after it was acquired by Multiverse
- LivingTree has been acquired by Follet School Solutions. We’re removing it temporarily while it gets rebranded and relaunched.
- Gopangea in Global Learning has been sunset.
- The Choices Program, in History & Social Studies: Curriculum, has been sunset
- Buncee, in Interactive Posters, is officially sunset.
- Google CS First, in Makerspaces: Coding, has been sunset.
- Ed Tech Fitness, in Physical Education, was removed as it is no longer an educational site.
Name Changes
- MoneySense (U.K.) is now NatWest Thrive, in Financial Literacy
Other Updates
- Two new terms were added to the guide – WebP and HEIC.
- Brisk Teaching Certification was added to the Micro-credentials list
- New videos were added for Mote, Snorkl, ClassBank, Perusall, WeVideo, Goosechase, Emojipedia, Wizer, Typesy, Typing.com, Microsoft Teams, Amira Learning, Beanstack, Raz-Kids, Edison, Wonder Workshop Dash Robot, Mural, Microsoft Search Coach, Learn.Genetics, Latimer, and Insta~Lesson.
- Permission Click in Fundraising & Payment Processing is now part of PowerSchool.
- Empatico, in Global Learning, is no longer active, however, the site remains a valuable resource of online activities and games.
- Lumio, in Interactive Lessons, is undergoing a change, so we temporarily removed it while Smart makes the updates.
- Kano, in Makerspaces: Electronics, is being reimagined, so the page has been drafted temporarily until everything is updated.
